Your data: export and delete.Download a copy first. Deleting cannot be undone.

You can download a copy of your journal data, and you can delete your account. Deleting your account removes it and every trade in it straight away, and cannot be undone. Download your data first if you might want it later.

Nothing happens unless you confirm it.

Downloading changes nothing. Deleting asks you to type your email first. If a step doesn't look like the picture, that's normal: open the "Not seeing it?" box under it.

Before you start

Two checks. Tick them as you go.

Words you'll see. Backup = a JSON file with a copy of your journal data. Delete your account = removes the account and every trade in it.
1

Find Data & privacy

Everything here is in one place.

  1. Open Settings, then Data & privacy.
  2. The page lists what is kept, and why, before you choose anything.
Not seeing it?

I can't find Data & privacy. It is in Settings. Open Settings from the site menu after you sign in.

2

Download your data

A JSON backup file, saved to your computer.

  1. Press Download your data.
  2. The file is named precisionfx-backup- followed by the date.
  3. You can download again after a short wait. The site limits how often you can.
This file is a copy you keep. The site does not offer a restore from it yet.
Not seeing it?

It says please wait before downloading again. The site limits downloads. Wait the time it shows, then try again.

It says the backup could not be completed. The data may be larger than the portable limit, or a stored image may be missing. Your data is not changed. Contact support for a complete backup.

3

Keep the file private

It contains your trades and notes.

  1. Store the file somewhere only you can open.
  2. Do not send it in a chat, an email or a shared folder.
Anyone with the file can read your trades, notes and playbooks. Treat it like a private record.
Not seeing it?

I sent it by mistake. Contact support straight away.

4

Know what's kept, and why

The same list the Data & privacy page shows.

  1. Your profile, so the site knows your name, time zone and what you trade.
  2. Your trades and raw fills from MT5, so the journal can show your stats.
  3. Anything you write: notes, tags, ratings, playbooks, journal entries and prop rules. Your signed-in devices are kept too, so you can see and end them.
Not seeing it?

I don't see one of these in my download. Check the file contains the sections you expect. If something is missing, contact support.

5

Delete one trade, or the whole account

Only if you are sure. Start with the smallest step.

  1. A trade you typed in can be deleted.
  2. A trade from MetaTrader 5 cannot be deleted. It is your broker's record.
  3. To delete the whole account, use Delete your account. You must type your email to confirm.
Deleting the account deletes it and every trade in it, straight away. It cannot be undone.
Not seeing it?

The delete step won't go through. Type your email exactly as it is on the account, then try again.

6

Download before any deletion

The last step, every time.

  1. If you might delete the account, download your data first.
  2. Store the file privately, and check it opens before you delete anything.
Once the account is deleted, the journal cannot bring it back.
Not seeing it?

I deleted the account and want it back. Contact support straight away. Deleted data cannot be recovered in the app.

Your safety nets

Three ways to stay in control.

1

Download first

A copy is the only way to keep your journal if you delete the account.

2

Type your email

Deleting asks you to type your email, so one slip cannot delete the account.

3

Keep the file private

The download contains your trades and notes.

All done

You're set up.Nicely done.
