Install a tool from the MQL5 Market.One calm step at a time.

By the end, a PrecisionFX tool is installed in MetaTrader 5 through the MQL5 Market and sitting on a chart. Installing a tool doesn't place a trade. Take your time.

You can't break anything doing this.

You're adding a tool through MetaTrader's own Market. Nothing trades until you switch a trading option on, and that is a separate step. If a step doesn't look like the picture, that's normal: open the "Not seeing it?" box under it.

Before you start

Three quick things. Tick them as you go.

Words you'll see. Market = the shop inside MetaTrader 5. Navigator = the side panel listing your tools. Chart = prices drawn over time.

Find the tool's Market page

Start from the product page, so you get the right tool.

  1. Open the tool's page on this site, from the MetaTrader 5 tools list.
  2. If it has a Market link, press it. It opens the tool's listing on the MQL5 website.
  3. Check the name matches exactly, including the word PFX.
Not every tool is on the Market. If a product page has no Market link, it isn't listed there yet. Its page says how to get it.
Not seeing it?

The link opens a page with a different name. Stop and go back to the tool's product page. Only install the name you were looking for.

I can't find the tool on the Market. Search for PFX in the Market, or ask us.

Sign in to MQL5 in MetaTrader

So the Market knows your account.

  1. In MetaTrader 5, open Tools and then Options.
  2. Open the Community tab.
  3. Sign in with your MQL5 email and password, then press OK.
Use your own MQL5 login. Don't share it, and don't save it in a screenshot or a note.
Not seeing it?

I don't see a Community tab. Your MetaTrader version may word it differently. Look for the MQL5 sign-in in the Options window.

My password is wrong. Reset it on the MQL5 website, then try again.

Install from the Market

Free tools install in a few clicks.

  1. Open View and then Market, or press Ctrl + M.
  2. Search for the tool's name, and open its listing.
  3. Press Install for a free tool, then wait for the progress to finish.
Free means free. A free PrecisionFX tool costs nothing to install. If a price shows, the tool isn't the free one: check the name again.
Not seeing it?

The Market doesn't open. Check you're signed in (step 2), and that your PC is connected to the internet.

The install says it failed. Close MetaTrader, open it again, and install once more. If it still fails, tell us the message.

Find it and attach it

Put it on a chart to use it.

  1. Open Navigator (press Ctrl + N) and find the tool under Indicators or Expert Advisors.
  2. Drag it onto a chart. Its settings window opens.
  3. Press OK. Indicators only draw. Expert Advisors can trade, so leave trading off for now.
Trading is a separate switch. An Expert Advisor only places trades when you turn on automated trading. Leave it off until you have read the tool's guide.
Not seeing it?

I can't find it in Navigator. Close and reopen Navigator, or restart MetaTrader. Installed tools appear there after a restart.

The settings window won't close. Press OK or Cancel. Nothing is changed until you press OK.

Remove it

Take the tool off the chart in MetaTrader and it stops drawing or trading. Your chart goes back to how it was.

Keep trading off

Expert Advisors need automated trading on. Leave it off until you have tested on a practice account.

Use a demo account for every new tool before it touches a real account.
