Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2025
PrecisionFX (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It applies to all users of precisionfx.com and our related services.
We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you register we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you subscribe to a paid plan we also collect billing address and payment instrument details (processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store raw card numbers).
1.2 Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including pages viewed, features accessed, session duration, IP address, browser type, and device identifiers.
1.3 Trading Metadata
To display your personal dashboard statistics we may receive aggregated trade metadata (open/close counts, drawdown, balance growth) from your connected broker via our signal bridge. We do not receive or store individual trade execution details beyond what is necessary to display your performance metrics.
1.4 Communications
If you contact our support team we retain records of that correspondence, including your name, email, and message content.
1.5 Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Process subscription payments and send billing receipts.
- Deliver the Service, including EA signal feeds and dashboard metrics.
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, payment receipts).
- Send marketing communications about new EAs, features, and offers — only where you have consented or where we have a legitimate interest and you have not opted out.
- Improve the platform through analytics and aggregated usage insights.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
We process your personal data under the following lawful bases (UK GDPR Article 6):
- Contract performance — to deliver the Service and manage your subscription.
- Legitimate interests — to improve the Service, prevent fraud, and send relevant marketing (where not overridden by your rights).
- Legal obligation — to comply with financial, taxation, and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and direct marketing where required.
4. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted third parties only where necessary:
- Payment processors (e.g. Stripe) to handle subscription billing.
- Email service providers to send transactional and marketing emails.
- Analytics providers (using anonymised or pseudonymised data) to help us understand usage patterns.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements.
- Legal or regulatory authorities where required by applicable law or a valid legal process.
All third-party processors are contractually required to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection law.
5. International Transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA). Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK-approved Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
6. Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years afterwards to meet legal and tax obligations. Usage logs and analytics data are anonymised or deleted within 26 months. You may request earlier deletion subject to legal retention requirements (see Section 7).
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data where there is no overriding legal basis to retain it.
- Restriction — ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is consent-based, withdraw at any time without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@precisionfx.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including TLS encryption in transit, password hashing, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no internet transmission is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at persons under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
